Transit Taskforce Ask Mayor and City Council to increase Public Transit Funding!

The City is in budget season and BETTER TRANSIT for a BETTER MEMPHIS could be on the line! In this critical phase we are continuing to urge everyone to send a letter to Mayor Young and the City Council to secure a $20 million investment on top of Mayor’s proposed $30 million operating budget to fund meaningful improvements and hold MATA accountable for making these improvements. We've reached out to members at the City Council and the Mayor to discuss these urgent investments, and you can read more about these needed investments in our info sheet here. Earlier this month MICAH's Transit Team held a press conference at City Hall urging the City Council to make these investments. This past week, they also joined a press conference with the Moral Budget Coalition the call for investments across the city.
