Housing and Neighborhood Livability
Task Force

Our Work

Housing is a human right in Memphis, and environmental justice is crucial to long-term health outcomes for individuals and communities. Access to parks and clean environments improves physical and mental health, reduces stress, and fosters community interactions.

Our work is to ensure that all Memphians—especially those historically marginalized—have access to dignified housing and livable communities. We believe housing is foundational to economic equity, environmental justice, educational success, and strong, connected communities.

How We Can Take Action!

MICAH's Housing & Neighborhood Livability team wants YOU to join them as they work to hold bad landlords accountable, make neighborhoods more livable, and fight for housing justice in Memphis. We are currently partnering to canvass at apartment complexes to talk with tenants about their living conditions and concerns, and begin building a base of tenants who want to see their living conditions improve.

The team meets on the first Monday of the month on Issues Night. Fill out the form below so we can keep you in the loop on future actions.
