Partner Spotlight - Centenary United Methodist Church

Centenary UMC, a historic church in Memphis, TN, has been a cornerstone of the community since its founding in 1865. Known for its rich heritage and dedication to service, Centenary UMC was the site where Rev. Dr. Lawson Invited Rev. Dr. King to meet with sanitation workers before the Sanitation Strike of 1968. The spirit or faith based organizing continues to thrive under the leadership of Pastor Keith Caldwell.

On August 11th, the church hosted a pivotal listening campaign, demonstrating its commitment to fostering dialogue and connection. Building on this momentum, many of its members actively participated in the Launch event, committing to a series of one-on-one conversations. This engagement highlights Centenary UMC's enduring role as a vibrant and influential presence in Memphis.
