MICAH Issues and Actions Training 7/12/25

MICAH held Issues & Actions training on 7/12/205. The training was conducted by a combination of our MICAH training workgroup and Gamaliel staff. The training was well attended, with about 30 MICAH leaders participating.

The focus of the training was on preparing for our Public Meeting in September. We leaned how to select issue "Cuts" from our task force areas: specific, short term, achievable asks to specific people who have the power to do what is asked, and that would improve the situation if implemented. We practiced presenting the ask to the official, and holding them accountable for their answer.

We also discussed ways to increase turnout for the public meeting. Turnout tells the invited officials about our power: our leverage to get them to support our positions is directly related to the number of voters we represent, and our voter influence is proportional to attendance at the public meeting.
