Over the past few weekends, MICAH’s Immigration & Inclusivity Team has been on the ground connecting with neighbors across Memphis to share vital information, build trust, and deepen relationships. With the support of dozens of volunteers, we distributed over 2,000 multilingual resource packets, met residents face-to-face, and partnered with local churches to expand our reach.
Alongside partners like TIRRC, V901, Votes for All, and The Equity Alliance, we shared “Know Your Rights” flyers, emergency preparedness tools, and rapid response contacts; because knowledge is power, and preparation is protection.
Thanks to this collective effort, we were able to reach families living in fear, offering resources and reassurance during a time of heightened need.
In the wake of recent ICE raids and growing fear in immigrant communities across Tennessee, including Memphis, our team has remained focused on reaching key neighborhoods to continue this critical outreach.
We were especially moved by the incredible turnout of volunteers from all backgrounds, showing that solidarity knows no language or ethnicity. From door-to-door lit drops to meaningful moments in faith communities, we witnessed the true spirit of a multiracial, welcoming Memphis.
We’re deeply grateful to everyone who helped prepare packets, canvassed, translated,
organized, and showed up with heart. We look forward to continuing this outreach and hope more folks will join us this weekend!
